Dreamboat, oil painting with some wax medium used. This was done as a preliminary design for a boat I wanted to build. My son and I had built a small sailboat, and I was wanting to build something else. Something small, with a large interior space. There is very little on the market of this type boat, and after two years of looking for something to buy, I decided to build. I was considering a few different designs, but I wanted something even more unique than anything I could find, so I drew/painted this design that I really liked. I would have built it as a 16-18 ft. boat, and it would have had a very nice, comparatively large interior space. At about this time, I came across the name of a boat that sounded like something I might like, a Nimble Nomad. 24 ft. was a little bigger than I wanted, but it was designed to be very economical to run, and had a large interior space. When I saw photos of them, and researched them a bit, I immediately started looking for one for sale. They built a very small number of them, but I did find one in Rhode Island that seemed good at a reasonable price. We wound up with that, the one pictured below which I renamed Wabi Sabi, and my building plans were put aside.
